SHB Donates SAR 250,000/- to Downs Syndrome Charitable Association
RIYADH: Managing Director of Saudi Hollandi Bank, Dr. Bernd van Linder
highlighted the importance of the Bank’s community services programs on the
occasion of his recent visit to the Downs Syndrome Charitable Association (DSCA)
in Riyadh. He handed over a cheque for SR 250,000/- on behalf of the Bank in
support of the society’s educational program for children. SHB is sponsoring 25
DSCA students this year.
Dr. van Linder said that SHB intended to
build a strong and interactive relationship with the society, as a responsible
member of the community. He added that it is the bank’s intention to strengthen
cooperation between its staff and the different segments of society. To this
end, a number of SHB employees will participate in the collection of donations
for the society by holding periodic charitable programs in support of the
society.
Dr. van Linder distributed gifts to all the students during his
tour of the society’s facilities. He was briefed on DSCA’s programmes by Suzanne
Al-Ghanem, DSCA’s Secretary-General. He was then apprised of the educational,
psychological and orientation methods used in dealing with the children, At the
end of his visit, Dr. van Linder was presented with a portrait made by two of
the society's children as a souvenir.
